Renovation
of 9,000 SF within attic space in one of the University's
original
historic buildings to provide offices for upper level faculty,
staff and graduate students to work. Space planning of
the
area provides both fixed offices for permanent employees
as well as workstations for temporary and floating staff
and
graduates. The main challenge of the project was the provision
of efficient, flexible and ergonomic workspaces within
the
seemingly confining space of the attic. The renovation supplies
state-of-the-art data and communications capabilities to
each
of the offices and work areas. Much consideration was given
to the lighting design to provide adequate and natural
light
levels. The design also integrates many historic details
from the original building throughout the space.
