planning, design and documentation for a new 40,000 SF
building designated for technology-based instruction
and laboratories.
Phase II is the second building for the College’s
new Fredericksburg campus which features programs such
as occupational/technical
programs, college transfer programs, general educational
programs, developmental studies, continuing adult education,
special
training programs for area employers and specialized regional
and community services. The building provides the College's
response to the paradigm shift from teacher/instructor-centered
education towards learner/student-centered environments.
The
facility is planned to exemplify state-of-the-art technology
for classrooms and computer/technology classrooms and respond
to both instructional and learning needs. The facility
provides
alternate methods of instructional delivery which include
a breadth of media technologies including distance and
multi-site
learning, distributed learning, collaborative teaming,
video-conferencing, on-line tutorials and resources, seminars
and break-out facilities.
