Architectural
and engineering services for a school renewal project providing
a new 12,000 SF addition. The addition encompasses a new media
center, resource room, exploratory classrooms, art and music
rooms, and School Age Child Care (SACC). The split, three-level
structure is served by a elevator to facilitate accessibility
circulation. Major interior renovations within the existing
building incorporated reconfiguration of the administration
area to maintain visual control of the main entrance, space
conversions to provide new classrooms and a computer center,
accessibility improvements, kitchen renovations, roof replacement,
HVAC and electrical upgrades, power/data wiring, and fire
protection and security system improvements. The design team
worked within the confines of tight site limitations to place
the addition and integrate the required site improvements
which included a new canopy at the main entrance, a creative
playground, reconstruction of drives and parking areas, and
the replacement of sidewalks and curbs as required.
