Addition of
5,000 square feet to an existing U.S. Park Police station
in a national park to provide a public lobby, administrative
staff offices, interview/conference rooms, computer room and
support spaces. The addition design requires sensitivity to
the preservation of the existing historically significant
site on which it sits. All work is performed according to
natural and cultural resources management guidelines. Additionally,
work includes implementation of sustainable design principles
adopted and employed by the U.S. Park Service as stated in
Guiding Principles of Sustainable Design, 1993. Additional
programmatic features include renovation of existing spaces
to reconfigure administrative areas, improve circulation and
generally upgrade the facility.
