A new 8,000 SF office and laboratory facility to provide diagnostic services to Virginia's agricultural industry. The building includes diagnostic, dairy bacteriology serology laboratories, and media preparation laboratories; a large animal necropsy (animal autopsy) area; a monorail and cooler for carcass maneuvering, storage and preservation; and administrative support spaces. Mechanical systems provide four separate systems for the separation of functional areas including animal necropsy and diagnostic bacteriology. The facility design is intended to serve as a prototypical model for implementation at other locations throughout the Commonwealth.
