ARCHITECT 

 Gauthier, Alvarado & Associates, a Northern Virginia Architectural/Engineering firm, is a multi-disciplined firm in Fairfax, Virginia. We provide Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical engineering for a variety of projects that include commercial office buildings, educational facilities, public agencies, and interior tenant build-outs. GAA is seeking a talented Project Architect/Project Manager.

We are interested in candidates who are self-motivated, energetic, and who will fit in as a vital member of our firm.  This person will be involved in a variety of projects ranging throughout Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.  Candidates must be well-organized, clear communicators, and proficient in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate must have hands-on experience with construction documents, writing specifications, and understanding building codes.

The position to be filled comes with a competitive salary and benefits package inclusive of health insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, a 125 cafeteria plan, 401k plan as well as paid holidays, sick leave and vacation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-10 years’ experience.
  • Architectural Licensure in Virginia, Maryland and/or DC required.
  • Experience with design, detailing, and development of construction documents.
  • Project Management and Construction Admin experience.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and industry design standards.
  • High degree of proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM 3D (Revit) modeling

Electrical Engineer

Gauthier, Alvarado & Associates, a Northern Virginia Architectural/Engineering firm, is a multi-disciplined engineering firm in Fairfax, Virginia. GAA is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in developing construction documents for power, lighting, fire alarm, security and telecommunications systems for educational, government, and commercial facilities.  LEED certification is desirable.  The responsibilities of the candidate will include: preparation of studies, electrical evaluations, design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration services.  Good communication and writing skills are a must.

  • PE preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design for commercial, educational and public facility projects.
  • Experience with design and analysis of electrical power distribution systems, lighting, telecommunications and fire alarm systems.
  • Construction observation experience.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry design standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT MEP

  • Working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry design standards.
